On Thursday, September 10, 2026, YouTube and TIFF will present the Creator Premieres Showcase in partnership with Variety at TIFF Lightbox, Cinema 4, 350 King St W, Toronto.
This marks YouTube’s first activation at TIFF as an Official Festival Partner and an Official Partner of TIFF: The Market.
And that’s the part creators should clock. Creator-led work isn’t just being promoted around TIFF; it’s getting premieres, press access, and a place inside the festival ecosystem. And if anybody still thinks a YouTube show is somehow ‘less than,’ well… two of them are premiering at TIFF.
Ziwe
If you know Ziwe, you already know the interviews can go left very quickly — and that’s part of the point. The writer, comedian and interviewer brought You’d Be an Iconic Guest to YouTube with guests including Kevin Hart, Reneé Rapp, Vince Staples and Tiffany Pollard. She has also been named to Forbes 30 Under 30 and TIME’s Next Generation Leaders.
Now two new episodes are getting their worldwide premiere at TIFF before arriving exclusively on YouTube later this year. Watch her channel here: Ziwe on YouTube.
Mark Vins
Mark Vins is an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and CEO of Brave Wilderness. His documentary Reef to Ridge follows a Galápagos expedition from 132 feet below the ocean surface to the 5,600-foot peak of Wolf Volcano, looking at wildlife after the 2022 eruption and conservation threats. Matt Donnelly, Variety’s Executive Editor of Film, will moderate a Q&A with each creator.

This doesn’t mean every YouTube series is suddenly headed to TIFF. But it does say something about where creator-led entertainment is going. The lines between ‘digital creator,’ filmmaker, host and traditional entertainment are getting thinner. Pay attention to where the doors are opening.
