From Ottawa to Edinburgh—and a few unforgettable cities in between—Rose-Ingrid Benjamin is packing a mic, a suitcase full of lived experience, and a bold solo show that’s about to stir international stages.
The Haitian-Canadian artist, comedian, and cultural worker is heading overseas to debut White As Snow at PBH’s Free Fringe in Edinburgh from August 2–9, a one-person truth-serum cabaret that’s part confession, part coming-of-faith story, and part cultural reckoning.
White As Snow is raw, lyrical, spiritual (in the most unchurchy way), and funny in all the ways that hurt…then heal. It takes us through Rose-Ingrid’s journey from Pentecostal missionary to joyful, blasphemous truth-teller—blending poetry, music, memoir, and unapologetic queer Black joy.
“This piece is a culmination of the last two decades of work and exploration… I am breathing new life into these words, connecting them with my current experiences and sharing my scars in an honest, vulnerable way.” — Rose-Ingrid Benjamin
But that’s not all. In true multi-hyphenate fashion, Benjamin’s also bringing their signature stand-up comedy across the UK and Europe, serving us satire, storytelling, and sharp-edged humour that’s unmistakably Black, queer, and diasporically divine.
