Three Legends. One Stage. A Story That Deserves to Be Told.

This International Women’s Month, we’re giving flowers—no, scratch that, standing ovations—to three of the most groundbreaking Black women in music history: Nina Simone, Josephine Baker, and Jessye Norman. Their voices weren’t just beautiful; they were revolutionary. And now, through the electrifying new musical Coming Home, their stories are taking center stage.

Blending the rich sounds of jazz, blues, classical, and opera, this show isn’t just a performance—it’s a full-on experience. Starring Precious Osarenkhoe as Nina Simone, the soulful force behind the civil rights movement, KhaRå Martin as Josephine Baker, the entertainer-turned-French Resistance spy, and Christina Smith as Jessye Norman, the operatic powerhouse who shattered every barrier in her path, Coming Home is here to remind us why these women were, and still are, the moment.

More Than Music—A Movement

These women didn’t just entertain—they challenged norms, fought oppression, and used their art as activism. Nina Simone’s voice became the soundtrack of resistance, Josephine Baker lived a double life as an international superstar and anti-Nazi spy, and Jessye Norman redefined opera, proving that talent knows no color barriers.

As KhaRå Martin, who embodies Josephine Baker in the show, puts it:

“Coming Home is more than a musical—it is a love letter to Black women’s strength, creativity, and legacy. By bringing Nina, Josephine, and Jessye’s stories to the stage, we honor their fight for justice, their artistic genius, and their undeniable impact on history.”

This is about more than nostalgia—it’s about honoring the sacrifices, victories, and sheer brilliance of the women who paved the way. And let’s be real: their stories deserve to be sung, felt, and celebrated.
