BLK Book Fair — Chapter III: Our Story Continues
The BLK Book Fair is celebrating five years of championing Afro-Canadian authors, storytelling and community with Chapter III: Our Story Continues, an upscale literary experience in Toronto.
Taking place Saturday, September 12, the event brings together authors, readers, writers, entrepreneurs, creatives and community leaders for an afternoon and evening celebrating Black literature, culture, entrepreneurship and connection.
What to expect
Attendees can experience:
- An upscale book fair featuring Afro-Canadian authors
- Live author readings and literary conversations
- The Community Marketplace, featuring businesses, artisans, creators and community organizations
- The inaugural BLK Book Fair Literary Impact Awards
- Networking with authors, readers, entrepreneurs and community leaders
- Complimentary appetizers and beverages, including wine for guests of legal drinking age
New for 2026: Literary Impact Awards
This year’s event introduces the BLK Book Fair Literary Impact Awards, recognizing three Afro-Canadian authors whose literary work has made a meaningful impact in their communities.
Nominations for the 2026 awards are currently open.
Calling businesses, creators & organizations
Marketplace Exhibitor Registration is also open.
Businesses, artisans, creators, service providers and community organizations can apply to participate in the Community Marketplace and showcase their products, services or work to attendees.
You should know:
This one isn’t only for authors. If you’re a writer, publisher, literary creator, entrepreneur, artisan, creative business owner or community builder, there are several ways to participate — attend, network, discover Black Canadian authors, become a marketplace exhibitor or nominate an author whose work deserves recognition.
For aspiring writers and creators, it’s also an opportunity to meet people already doing the work and support the growing ecosystem around Afro-Canadian literature and storytelling.

Readers, authors, aspiring writers, publishers, educators, entrepreneurs, creators, artisans, community organizations and anyone interested in celebrating and supporting Afro-Canadian literature and culture.
