Vancouver Queer Film Festival: “Move Ya Body” – The Birth of House Music

September 13 @ 3:15 pm

The 37th Vancouver Queer Film Festival returns September 11–21, 2025, as Western Canada’s largest queer film festival—committed to illuminating, celebrating, and transforming 2SLGBTQIA+ lives through cinema, conversation, and culture.

Join us for the BC Premiere of “Move Ya Body: The Birth of House”, a powerful new documentary from director Elegance Bratton that unpacks the radical, Black queer origins of house music in 1970s Chicago.
