SUMMARY:BlackNorth Initiative Entrepreneurship Mixer – Toronto
DESCRIPTION:Ready to turn your business dreams into reality? The BlackNorth Initiative is bringing together Toronto’s most ambitious Black entrepreneurs for an evening that’s about to change everything. Mark your calendars: December 8th is going to be that night. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy This Mixer Hits Different\n\n\n\nLet’s be real: finding your people in the entrepreneurship space can feel impossible\, especially when you’re building something meaningful as a Black founder. The BlackNorth Initiative Entrepreneurship Mixer isn’t just another networking event: it’s a carefully curated experience designed specifically for us\, by us. \n\n\n\nThis isn’t your typical “grab a drink and exchange business cards” situation. We’re talking about a full evening of learning\, connecting\, and getting the tools you actually need to build something that lasts. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Dream Team Behind the Magic\n\n\n\nBlackNorth Initiative teamed up with some serious players to make this happen: \n\n\n\n\nBlack Founders Network (BFN) – The crew that knows exactly what it takes to launch and scale\n\n\n\nDMZ – Toronto’s powerhouse accelerator that’s launched countless successful startups\n\n\n\nBlack Entrepreneurship Alliance (BEA) – Your go-to for community and long-term support\n\n\n\n\nWhen these organizations come together\, you know something special is about to unfold. \n\n\n\nWhat’s Actually Happening That Night\n\n\n\n5:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Registration & Real Connections\n\n\n\nSkip the awkward small talk. This hour is designed for genuine networking with people who get it. Light refreshments\, community partners on-site\, and the kind of conversations that spark collaborations. \n\n\n\n6:30 PM – 7:15 PM: Social Entrepreneurship Masterclass\n\n\n\nHere’s where it gets good. Tony Colley\, Founder & CEO of B12Give\, is leading a micro-learning session on building social enterprises that actually make an impact. We’re talking: \n\n\n\n\nHow to structure ventures for long-term success\n\n\n\nCreating community impact while building sustainable revenue\n\n\n\nReal strategies from someone who’s been there\n\n\n\n\n7:15 PM – 7:45 PM: Founder Panel Discussion\n\n\n\nAn intimate conversation with founders who’ve navigated the startup ecosystem and lived to tell the tale. These aren’t sanitized success stories: expect real talk about the challenges\, pivots\, and breakthrough moments that actually matter. \n\n\n\n7:45 PM – 10:00 PM: The Main Event\n\n\n\nThis is where the magic happens. Networking that doesn’t feel forced\, dinner that’s actually good\, founder showcases\, and ecosystem partners ready to connect you with resources that can accelerate your journey. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho Should Be There (Spoiler: Probably You)\n\n\n\nThinking about launching a business? This is your starting point. Get the roadmap before you take the leap. \n\n\n\nAlready building something? Connect with founders at your stage and discover the resources you didn’t know existed. \n\n\n\nCurious about social entrepreneurship? Learn how to build something that pays the bills and makes a difference. \n\n\n\nLooking for funding or mentorship? Meet the people who can open those doors. \n\n\n\nWant to tap into Toronto’s Black entrepreneurship ecosystem? This is your entrance pass. \n\n\n\nWhat You’ll Walk Away With\n\n\n\nLet’s talk about the real value here. This isn’t just about inspiration: though you’ll definitely leave feeling energized. You’re getting: \n\n\n\nPractical Skills\n\n\n\n\nHow to turn ideas into sustainable ventures\n\n\n\nEntrepreneurial skills for building and scaling\n\n\n\nUnderstanding social entrepreneurship in practice\n\n\n\nInsights on navigating the startup ecosystem\n\n\n\n\nReal Connections\n\n\n\n\nFellow founders who understand your journey\n\n\n\nExperienced entrepreneurs willing to share knowledge\n\n\n\nEcosystem partners with resources and support\n\n\n\nPotential collaborators\, mentors\, and even co-founders\n\n\n\n\nAccess to Resources\n\n\n\n\nFunding pathways through BNI’s B.E.G.I.N. network\n\n\n\nMentorship opportunities\n\n\n\nAccelerator programs\n\n\n\nCommunity support systems\n\n\n\n\nThe BlackNorth Initiative Difference\n\n\n\nBlackNorth Initiative isn’t playing around when it comes to supporting Black entrepreneurs. Their approach goes beyond surface-level networking to create systemic change in how Black founders access resources\, build connections\, and scale their ventures. \n\n\n\nThe B.E.G.I.N. network alone represents a comprehensive ecosystem designed to support entrepreneurs at every stage. When you’re part of this community\, you’re not just getting access to events: you’re joining a movement that’s reshaping entrepreneurship in Canada. \n\n\n\nWhy Toronto’s Timing is Perfect\n\n\n\nToronto’s entrepreneurship scene is having a moment\, and Black founders are leading some of the most innovative ventures in the city. From fintech to social impact startups\, from creative agencies to tech solutions: the diversity of businesses being built by Black entrepreneurs is incredible. \n\n\n\nThis mixer comes at the perfect time to capitalize on that momentum. The partnerships with DMZ (one of the world’s top university-based incubators) and the growing support for Black-owned businesses create an environment where your ideas can actually get the backing they deserve. \n\n\n\nGetting Your Spot\n\n\n\nHere’s the thing about events that matter: they fill up fast. Seats are limited\, and given the caliber of speakers\, partners\, and attendees\, this isn’t one to sleep on. \n\n\n\nRegistration is open now at: luma.com/t0d3zfc2 \n\n\n\nEvent Details You Need\n\n\n\nWhen: Monday\, December 8\, 2025Time: 5:30 PM – 10:30 PMWhere: OneEleven\, 325 Front St W 4th Floor\, Toronto\, ON M5V 3S9Cost: Check registration link for detailsDress Code: Business casual (come as you are\, but bring your A-game energy) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMaking the Most of Your Night\n\n\n\nWant to maximize this experience? Here’s how: \n\n\n\nCome prepared to share your story. Have a clear\, concise way to explain what you’re building and what kind of support you’re looking for. \n\n\n\nBring business cards: or at least have your contact info ready. Old school? Maybe. Effective? Absolutely. \n\n\n\nStay curious. Ask questions\, listen actively\, and be genuinely interested in what others are building. \n\n\n\nFollow up. The real magic happens in the conversations that continue after the event. \n\n\n\nThe Bigger Picture\n\n\n\nThis mixer represents something bigger than one evening of networking. It’s part of a growing movement to ensure Black entrepreneurs have the support\, resources\, and connections needed to build successful\, sustainable businesses. \n\n\n\nEvery time we show up for events like this\, we’re not just investing in our own ventures: we’re strengthening the entire ecosystem. We’re proving that when Black entrepreneurs have access to the right resources and community\, incredible things happen. \n\n\n\nReady to Make It Happen?\n\n\n\nToronto’s Black entrepreneurship community is thriving\, and this mixer is your chance to be part of something special. Whether you’re at the idea stage or ready to scale\, this evening offers the connections\, knowledge\, and inspiration to take your next big step. \n\n\n\nThe question isn’t whether you can afford to attend: it’s whether you can afford to miss it.
